New Games – January 2020

When we first opened our doors in 2015, we had a paltry sum of games. Fewer than 300 titles to pick from. For a board game café, that’s next to nothing! We’ve managed to add over 100 games each year however, and now we’ve more than doubled that total, having recently surpassed 750 games. At this rate we might well hit 1000 by the end of 2021!

Because we’ve got such a regular influx of new games, we thought we’d start rounding up all those that join our collection each month. There are regular New Games Day posts over on our social media each week, but this will be your one-stop shop for each month’s collection of new titles. Without further ado, let’s look back at the first new batch of games for 2020!

Azul: Summer Pavilion

Azul and its first follow-up, Azul: The Stained Glass of Sintra, are both big hits at Cakes n Ladders, and we’re sure Azul: Summer Pavilion will be just as thoroughly enjoyed.

Black Mirror: Nosedive

Based on the Black Mirror episode of the same name, Nosedive challenges players to create the “perfect” life while avoiding dings to their social score.

Board Game Café Frenzy

Okay, come on. It’s a board game about opening up a board game café. When this popped up on Kickstarter, how could we NOT back it?

Game of Queens

Pitch queen against queen from across the carnival court of drag, from the female impersonators who pioneered drag performance in the 1970s up to the superstars of the scene today.

Sorcerer City: Deluxe Edition

Build up the city with magic, then build it up fresh and new, then build it again in yet a different way. Sorcerer City is never built the same way twice!

Telestrations: After Dark

Do you like Telestrations? Are you an adult who enjoys NSFW versions of games? This one’s for you!

You Gotta Be Kitten Me!

What do you get when you combine Liar’s Dice, Guess Who, and cats? You don’t know?? You Gotta Be Kitten Me!
